The Okuma Vashon fly reels, like all Okuma reels, are designed for the budget conscious and the beginner fly fisherman. While they lack all the "space age" materials and technologies of the more high end equipment they still provide excellent quality, and great value for money.
The Okuma Vashon series are precision machined with a brass bushing drive system, and a stainless steel spool shaft. They also incorporate multi-disc cork and stainless steel drag washers, with a roller bearing allowing the drag to engage in one direction only.
All Okuma reels offer a very simple left to right hand retrieval conversion.
